Unlike functional U6 snRNA genes, which are critical components of the spliceosome complex involved in pre-mRNA splicing[1][3], pseudogenes like RNU6-597P are non-functional gene copies that do not produce active small nuclear RNAs. Pseudogenes typically arise by duplication or retrotransposition and accumulate disabling mutations that prevent normal gene expression or function. There is no current scientific evidence linking RNU6-597P to therapeutic targeting, disease association, or regulatory activity, and it is not considered a drug target[4].
