RNU6-606P, also known as RNA, U6 small nuclear 606, pseudogene, is a processed pseudogene related to the highly conserved U6 small nuclear RNA (U6 snRNA) family, which are essential RNA components of the spliceosome complex in eukaryotic nuclei that catalyze the excision of introns from pre-mRNA[1][3]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-606P itself does not produce functional snRNA and is not part of active RNA-protein complexes[2]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-606P are usually transcriptionally inactive, non-coding, and do not encode proteins or functional RNAs, though some may be transcribed and influence gene regulation through regulatory RNA mechanisms[2]. RNU6-606P is *not* a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter. It is not known to directly participate in physiological or pathological processes, nor does it have established clinical relevance. If your context requires a molecule with direct biological or therapeutic function (such as U6 snRNA itself), the pseudogene is not an appropriate substitute.
