RNA, U6 small nuclear 65, pseudogene (RNU6-65P) is a human pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene. U6 snRNA itself is a highly conserved, uridine-rich noncoding RNA that forms a key part of the spliceosome involved in intron removal from pre-mRNAs, but pseudogenes like RNU6-65P are thought to be non-functional remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and do not code for functional RNA or protein[1][5]. RNU6-65P is annotated based on sequence similarity to functional U6 snRNA but lacks evidence for expression or functional contribution to splicing or disease. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-65P may sometimes have regulatory roles or produce noncoding RNAs, but there is currently no evidence or clinical implication for this specific locus[1][5].
