Overview

RNU6-652P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 652, pseudogene) is classified as a pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family[1][2]. Pseudogenes arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and generally do not produce functional RNA or protein products. The functional U6 snRNA plays an essential role as part of the spliceosome, which catalyzes pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells[3][5]. However, RNU6-652P is specifically a non-coding RNA pseudogene and is not known to be transcribed, translated, or functional in any known biological pathway[1][2]. There are many U6 snRNA pseudogenes scattered throughout the human genome[5][7]. RNU6-652P is not considered a therapeutic target, and there are no known biological functions, associated disease roles, or drug interactions for this pseudogene[1][2].
