Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 660, pseudogene (RNU6-660P) is a human pseudogene located at chromosome 5p15.1 (5:16941843-16941951)[3][4]. It does not encode a functional protein or regulatory RNA but represents a processed, non-functional genomic copy related to the U6 small nuclear RNA gene family[1][4]. U6 small nuclear RNA is a key spliceosomal RNA involved in pre-mRNA splicing, but RNU6-660P is not a functional member of the spliceosome and is believed to be transcriptionally inactive or non-functional. Like other pseudogenes, it may theoretically participate in regulatory RNA networks or compete for regulatory molecules, but there is no evidence that RNU6-660P specifically plays such a role[2][4]. It is not considered a drug target, receptor, or biomarker, nor is it directly linked to any therapeutic or diagnostic use[4].
