Overview

RNU6-703P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 703, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene related to U6 small nuclear RNA, an essential component of the spliceosome. U6 snRNA is crucial for pre-mRNA splicing, but pseudogenes like RNU6-703P do not encode functional RNA and are generally considered non-coding, lacking known or direct biological activity. There is currently no evidence that RNU6-703P is involved in any diseases, physiological pathways, or that it represents a drug or biomarker target. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, transcription factor, or any canonical druggable protein/gene family. Direct functional or clinical significance of RNU6-703P has not been described in the literature or major genomic databases[1][5]. Other U6 snRNA pseudogenes have been studied in genomics or cancer expression surveys, but RNU6-703P specifically is not reported to have regulatory, biomarker, or disease-promoting roles. U6 itself is critical for spliceosome function and gene expression regulation, but pseudogenes such as RNU6-703P remain mostly functionally uncharacterized[2][3][5].
