Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 710, pseudogene (RNU6-710P) is a human pseudogene belonging to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. U6 snRNAs are non-coding RNAs that form an essential part of the spliceosome, the complex responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells[1][3]. The U6 snRNA sequence is highly conserved and functionally crucial, but RNU6 pseudogenes, such as RNU6-710P, are considered non-functional genomic copies or relics derived from ancestral U6 genes[1][3][5]. These pseudogenes do not produce functional RNA molecules and are not known to have defined biological functions, disease associations, or therapeutic relevance. As such, RNU6-710P is not a therapeutic target, nor is it associated with known drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarkers, or safety concerns. The prevalence of U6 pseudogenes in the genome reflects the evolutionary importance of U6 snRNA, but the pseudogenes themselves play no established biological or pathophysiological roles[1][3][5].
