RNU6-795P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 795, pseudogene) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene. U6 snRNA is a highly conserved non-coding RNA involved in the catalytic core of the spliceosome complex, which catalyzes the removal of introns from pre-mRNA during RNA splicing[3][1][9]. Unlike functional copies, RNU6-795P does not produce functional U6 snRNA or protein and is generally classified as non-functional genetic "junk"; pseudogenes like this typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition and accumulate mutations that render them inactive[5][7][4]. Some pseudogenes in other families have been shown to produce regulatory RNAs (such as siRNAs or ceRNAs) that modulate gene expression in specific contexts[4][6], but there is no evidence that RNU6-795P acts as such a regulator. Thus, RNU6-795P is not considered a therapeutic target, nor is it involved in signaling, cell cycle, apoptosis, immune response, or related biological pathways typically associated with drug targeting.
