RNA, U6 small nuclear 83, pseudogene (RNU6-83P) is a retrotransposed, non-functional copy of the human U6 small nuclear RNA gene. Pseudogenes like RNU6-83P can be generated by retrotransposition carried out by LINE (Long Interspersed Nuclear Element) retrotransposons, and are present in various locations throughout the genome[5]. They do not encode proteins or functional RNAs, and thus do not participate in splicing, signaling, or other key cellular processes. The canonical U6 snRNA is a small nuclear RNA essential for pre-mRNA splicing in the spliceosome, but pseudogenes like RNU6-83P serve mainly as genomic markers for retrotransposon activity and are not considered molecular targets for drug discovery or therapeutic intervention[1][5]. In summary, RNU6-83P is a pseudogene of a small nuclear RNA, not a classical molecular target, and does not have known therapeutic or biomarker roles in human biology.
