RNU6-851P is a pseudogene corresponding to a member of the U6 small nuclear RNA family, which are involved in the spliceosome complex that processes pre-mRNA in eukaryotic cells. Unlike functional U6 small nuclear RNAs, pseudogenes such as RNU6-851P are considered non-functional relics of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and do not encode functional RNA molecules. There is no evidence suggesting that RNU6-851P plays a role as a receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic target, nor that it is involved in any disease processes or used as a biomarker[1][5].
