RNU6-893P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 893, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene transcribed from the genome but does not code for a functional protein or RNA product. It resides on chromosome 11 (reverse strand: 112,032,499-112,032,598, Ensembl ID: ENSG00000238444)[1][10]. The gene is officially recognized by the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee as a pseudogene[10]. Like other U6 snRNA pseudogenes, it is a noncoding segment related to the U6 small nuclear RNA genes, which are key components of the spliceosome; however, as a pseudogene, RNU6-893P does not produce a functional snRNA[1][10][3]. There are no established roles for RNU6-893P in disease pathways, therapeutic interventions, or pharmacologic targeting. Some pseudogenes can have regulatory effects at the RNA level (e.g., acting as miRNA sponges or generating noncoding RNAs that modulate gene expression), but there is no evidence for such roles specific to RNU6-893P[4]. It is not traditionally regarded as a biologically relevant receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target.
