Functional U6 snRNA is highly conserved and essential to the splicing activity that removes introns from pre-mRNA in eukaryotes, serving as a core catalytic RNA in the spliceosome[1][3]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-910P represent inactive, often non-transcribed genomic copies that lack the capacity to produce the functional snRNA and, consequently, do not participate in splicing or other cellular processes. They are not considered receptors, enzymes, transporters, nor canonical drug targets and do not possess known endogenous functions or clinical implications as disease-associated loci. Their identification may be relevant in genomic annotation but not in therapeutic targeting or disease biology[1][4].
