RNA, U6 small nuclear 937, pseudogene (RNU6-937P) is a processed pseudogene found at chromosome 20 (GRCh38: 35,928,570–35,928,675, reverse strand)[1][5]. It originates from retrotransposition and duplication events involving the active U6 small nuclear RNA gene, a crucial RNA for the spliceosome complex in eukaryotic pre-mRNA processing[2][4]. Unlike the functional U6 snRNA, which catalyzes intron removal in mRNA splicing[4], this pseudogene does not contribute to splicing or other cell functions, and it is not known to be expressed or to have a role in human disease or therapeutics. The presence of such pseudogenes is a marker of active L1 retrotransposition in mammals[2], but RNU6-937P itself is merely a genomic artifact, not a functional target. Most importantly, this entry is a processed pseudogene and not a druggable or biologically active molecule[1][2][3][5].
