Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 945, pseudogene (RNU6-945P) is a human pseudogene member of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family. U6 snRNA is a critical, highly conserved component of the spliceosome complex responsible for intron removal during pre-mRNA splicing[1][3]. Multiple pseudogene copies of U6 snRNA exist in the human genome, reflecting evolutionary stability and functional importance of the parental class. However, pseudogenes such as RNU6-945P are generally transcriptionally inactive and do not encode functional RNA or protein products. They are not recognized as therapeutic targets or involved in signaling, enzymatic activity, transport, or receptor function[4][2]. Current evidence does not associate RNU6-945P with disease biology, clinical biomarker utility, drug interaction, or safety concern. In some cases, pseudogenes can have regulatory effects (e.g., as competing endogenous RNAs or miRNA sponges), but no data support such a role for RNU6-945P specifically[2].
