RNA, U6 small nuclear 993, pseudogene (RNU6-993P) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 19p13.3, annotated as a non-coding, non-functional processed copy of the U6 small nuclear RNA gene[1][5][7][9]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-993P generally arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and do not encode functional RNA or protein products. While some pseudogenes have been shown to participate in regulation of gene expression or disease through competitive binding to microRNAs or acting as RNA decoys[2], there is no data to suggest that RNU6-993P is a therapeutically relevant target, nor is it implicated in disease, drug interaction, or biomarker activity.
