RNU6ATAC11P is a human "pseudogene" corresponding to the non-coding RNA gene for U6atac, a component of the minor (U12-dependent) spliceosome that catalyzes the splicing of a rare subset of introns (AT-AC type) from pre-mRNA transcripts[1][4]. As a pseudogene, "RNU6ATAC11P does not encode a functional RNA and is not transcribed or translated into an active product". Unlike functional U6atac snRNA, which is essential for minor intron splicing and has regulatory roles in gene expression under stress[4], pseudogenes such as RNU6ATAC11P typically "lack known protein or RNA products and are not considered therapeutic targets, biomarkers, or drug-interacting molecules"[2]. Thus, RNU6ATAC11P is neither a receptor, enzyme, nor biologically active RNA—its primary significance is as a genomic record of a once-functional RNA gene.
