Overview

RNA, U6atac small nuclear 14, pseudogene (RNU6ATAC14P) is classified as a non-coding RNA pseudogene in the human genome. It is related to the U6atac small nuclear RNA (snRNA), which in its functional (non-pseudogene) form participates in the formation of the minor spliceosome, a complex responsible for the splicing of a rare class of pre-mRNA introns. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6ATAC14P does not produce functional RNA and does not participate in biological pathways or disease processes. Unlike its functional counterparts, pseudogenes like RNU6ATAC14P are generally considered non-functional genomic elements formed by sequence duplication or retrotransposition events and serve no known direct cellular or therapeutic purpose. There are no known drugs, disease associations, biomarker uses, mechanisms of action, or safety concerns attributed to this pseudogene.
