RNA, U6atac small nuclear 28, pseudogene (RNU6ATAC28P) is a noncoding pseudogene located on chromosome 14q31.2, annotated as a small nuclear RNA (snRNA) pseudogene[1][3]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but usually non-functional; many are unprocessed or processed gene remnants[5]. While most pseudogenes do not produce functional proteins, some pseudogene transcripts may be transcribed into RNA, with emerging evidence suggesting they can modulate gene expression by acting as sources of regulatory RNAs or as decoys for microRNAs[5][7]. RNU6ATAC28P itself has no known protein product, receptor, enzyme, or transporter function, and currently no evidence links it directly to any therapeutic mechanism or drug interaction[1][3]. It is not considered a therapeutic target, and it has no recognized role as a biomarker or in specific diseases, although pseudogene dysregulation may contribute to broad disease mechanisms, especially in cancer biology by affecting the regulation of functional genes through RNA-based mechanisms[5][7].
