RNU6ATAC6P (RNA, U6atac small nuclear 6, pseudogene) is a genomic sequence resembling the gene for U6atac small nuclear RNA, but due to acquired mutations or truncations, it is categorized as a pseudogene and does not encode functional RNA. The U6atac small nuclear RNA (from which this pseudogene is derived) is part of the minor spliceosome complex and is involved in recognizing and catalyzing the splicing of a rare class of introns (U12-type), but RNU6ATAC6P itself does not produce an active RNA molecule and does not participate in these processes.
