Overview

RNA, U7 small nuclear 104 pseudogene (RNU7-104P) is a processed pseudogene related to the U7 small nuclear RNA gene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically non-functional due to mutations. While functional U7 snRNA is essential in the 3'-end processing of replication-dependent histone pre-mRNAs, this pseudogene does not participate in that pathway[1][5]. Like other processed pseudogenes, RNU7-104P may be transcribed at low levels but is not known to be translated into protein, nor does it have any reported role in cellular function, disease, or as a therapeutic target[4][5][6]. There are no drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarkers, or safety/therapeutic concerns associated with this pseudogene.
