RNU7-192P is a human pseudogene related to the U7 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family. The U7 small nuclear RNA is an essential component of the U7 snRNP complex, which is critically required for histone pre-mRNA processing in eukaryotic cells[1][6]. However, "pseudogene" denotes that RNU7-192P is a non-functional genetic relic; it is not expected to be expressed as a functional RNA nor to have an associated protein product[8][9]. Most such U7 snRNA pseudogenes are presumed inactive and are not implicated in any known biological functions, clinical outcomes, drug interactions, or disease pathways[8][9]. As such, RNU7-192P is not considered a therapeutic target and should be distinguished from functional U7 snRNA or its ribonucleoprotein complex[1][6][8][9].
