The RNA, U7 small nuclear 3 pseudogene (RNU7-3P) is a non-functional, pseudogenized member of the U7 small nuclear RNA gene family. While functional U7 small nuclear RNA is part of the U7 snRNP complex required for the 3′-end processing of replication-dependent histone pre-mRNAs in eukaryotes, the pseudogene version (RNU7-3P) does not encode an active RNA and has no known biological or therapeutic functions. Pseudogenes like RNU7-3P are often remnants of functional genes that have lost their ability to code for a functional product due to mutations. RNU7-3P is not a therapeutic target and does not interact with any known drugs[5][3].
