RNU7-30P, or RNA, U7 small nuclear 30 pseudogene, is classified as a pseudogene related to the U7 small nuclear RNA gene family[5][3]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are generally non-functional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements required for transcription or translation. The functional U7 small nuclear RNA is a component of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex involved in the 3'-end processing of replication-dependent histone pre-mRNAs[2][4]. However, RNU7-30P does not encode a functional RNA and does not have known molecular function, biological role, or disease association, nor is it a therapeutic target[5][3]. No drugs or disease-biomarker relevance or safety information is associated with this pseudogene. Its existence is primarily relevant from a genomic annotation and evolutionary perspective rather than any known role in cellular function or disease.
