It is related by sequence to U7 small nuclear RNA, which is an essential component of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) complex involved in histone pre-mRNA processing[4], but pseudogenes such as RNU7-34P lack function due to sequence changes or truncation and are not known to participate in any biological processes or disease mechanisms[7]. RNU7-34P is not considered a therapeutic target or biomarker and has no established role in pharmacology, disease, or biology beyond being a processed pseudogene[1][7][9].
