RNU7-48P is a *pseudogene* related to the U7 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. Unlike the functional U7 snRNA, which participates in the specialized processing of histone pre-mRNAs as part of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) complex[4], RNU7-48P is considered non-functional and does not encode a product or participate in cellular processes. Pseudogenes such as RNU7-48P generally arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and retain sequence similarity to their parent genes without retaining their biological activity. There is no evidence that RNU7-48P serves as a receptor, enzyme, or drug target, nor is it implicated in disease or utilized as a biomarker in current scientific or clinical practice.
