Overview

RBMX2P5 (RNA binding motif protein, X-linked 2 pseudogene 5) is a noncoding pseudogene of the RBMX2 gene in humans. Pseudogenes such as RBMX2P5 arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically do not encode functional proteins[2][5]. Instead, some pseudogenes are expressed as RNA and can regulate their parent genes by acting as microRNA decoys or via other regulatory RNA functions; however, there is no specific evidence that RBMX2P5 is clinically relevant in this manner[4][7]. There is *no indication* that RBMX2P5 is a **therapeutic target** (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor), nor is it classified under any canonical druggable family.
