RNA guanylyltransferase and 5'-phosphatase pseudogene 1 (RNGTTP1) is an annotated human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the functional RNA guanylyltransferase and 5'-phosphatase (RNGTT) gene. RNGTTP1 does not encode a functional protein product, is not implicated in known biological pathways, and has no established role in human health or disease. It is not considered a therapeutic target; its primary relevance is as a nonfunctional genomic locus[5][7][8][9]. RNGTTP1 is a pseudogene—not the same as RNA guanylyltransferase and 5'-phosphatase (RNGTT), which is a bifunctional enzyme critical for mRNA capping and is involved in essential cellular processes[3][2]. RNGTTP1 has no reported protein product, function, or drug associations.
