Overview

SAM domain, SH3 domain, and nuclear localization signals 1 (SAMSN1) is a widely conserved adaptor/scaffold protein containing SH3 and SAM domains that participates in regulatory signaling within immune cells, particularly as a negative regulator of B-cell activation. It down-regulates cellular proliferation, promotes RAC1-dependent actin cytoskeletal remodeling, and modulates activities of protein kinases such as LYN, as well as HDAC1. Disease association includes congenital glycosylation disorders and cancer, with its biological role focusing on the fine-tuning of immune cell responses.
