Target intelligence / Profile preview
Selenoprotein H (SELENOH) is a nucleolar protein with oxidoreductase and DNA-binding activities. It plays a crucial role in maintaining redox homeostasis, protecting cells from oxidative stress, and regulating mitochondrial biogenesis. SELENOH is highly responsive to dietary selenium and its deficiency is linked to increased susceptibility to oxidative damage and developmental defects. It also has roles in genome maintenance and tumor suppression. SELENOH expression is altered in some cancers.
Not applicable, SELENOH is a target, not a drug.
