Signal regulatory protein beta 3, pseudogene (SIRPB3P) is classified by HGNC and GeneCards as a pseudogene associated with the SIRP protein family, which are transmembrane glycoproteins involved in immune cell signaling[3][5]. While functional SIRP beta proteins participate in cell communication, SIRPB3P does not encode a functional receptor and is considered a noncoding genomic locus. Like other pseudogenes, it may contribute to cellular regulation via noncoding transcripts capable of miRNA decoy or RNA interference effects, but no disease associations or drug interactions have been described for SIRPB3P specifically[1][4][6]. SIRPB3P should not be considered a canonical molecular target for drug development, but its transcript could theoretically have indirect regulatory roles, as described for some other pseudogenes. If a functional therapeutic target in the SIRP family is desired, SIRPB1 or SIRPB2 (which encode actual proteins) should be considered instead[3][5].
