ST13P11 (ST13, Hsp70 interacting protein pseudogene 11) is a pseudogene located in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with the ST13 gene, which encodes the Hsp70-interacting protein involved in chaperone-mediated protein folding. Unlike its parent gene, ST13P11 does not produce a functional protein and is classified as a non-coding genomic element. Pseudogenes like ST13P11 arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events but typically do not play a direct role in cellular signaling, disease biology, or serve as drug targets. There are no reports of ST13P11 functioning as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target, nor is there evidence for any biochemical or pathophysiological relevance.
