Target intelligence / Profile preview
ST13, Hsp70 interacting protein pseudogene 18 (ST13P18) is a noncoding pseudogene. It is annotated as a non-functional genomic locus related to the ST13 Hsp70 interacting protein, but it does not produce a functional protein. While some pseudogenes can serve regulatory functions at the RNA level or participate in post-transcriptional modulation of gene expression, there is no evidence for any such role for ST13P18. It is not considered a therapeutic target. ST13P18 represents a duplicated gene that has accumulated disabling mutations preventing it from encoding a functional protein. Pseudogenes like ST13P18 are typically not included among conventional drug targets.
