STARD13 antisense RNA 2 (STARD13-AS2), also known as STARD13-AS, is a long non-coding RNA transcribed in the antisense direction relative to the STARD13 protein-coding gene. Unlike the STARD13 protein, which is a validated Rho GTPase-activating protein and tumor suppressor[1][2][3][4][5], the functional and disease-related significance of its antisense transcript remains largely uncharacterized. No evidence supports use of STARD13-AS2 as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or a clinically relevant therapeutic target in its own right. Most research and databases focus on the protein-coding STARD13 gene, not the antisense non-coding RNA.
