Overview

ST13P19 (suppression of tumorigenicity 13 (colon carcinoma) (Hsp70 interacting protein) pseudogene 19) is a processed pseudogene located at chromosome 1q32.2 (positions 210,265,636-210,267,241, NCBI Gene ID: 100131961). This pseudogene derives from the ST13 gene, which encodes the Hsp70 interacting protein, but ST13P19 itself does *not* produce a functional protein. Like other processed pseudogenes, it likely formed via retrotransposition and lacks the ability to be translated into a protein. There is no evidence that it acts as a receptor, enzyme, or other typical therapeutic target. Some pseudogenes can play regulatory roles at the RNA level, but no functional or disease-related roles for ST13P19 have been reported in the current literature.
