Overview

TCL1A interacting long non-coding RNA, retroperitoneal liposarcoma associated (TILRLS, also known as PILRLS), is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) identified as an oncogene specifically overexpressed in retroperitoneal liposarcoma tissue[3][7]. PILRLS binds to T-cell leukemia 1A protein (TCL1A), stabilizes its expression, and promotes cellular proliferation by activating the MDM2 and AKT pathways, ultimately suppressing the tumor suppressor p53 signaling cascade[3][5][7]. Knockdown of PILRLS results in reduced proliferation and increased p53 activity, suggesting its role in tumorigenesis and its potential as a therapeutic target in retroperitoneal liposarcoma[3]. As a lncRNA, it belongs to the non-coding RNA molecular family and acts via protein interactions and transcriptional/post-transcriptional regulation[2][4]. There is no current evidence for direct small-molecule or biologic drugs targeting PILRLS, but it represents a promising RNA therapeutic target and potential biomarker for this tumor type[3][5][7].
