Testis expressed transcript, Y-linked 22 (TTTY22) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on the Y chromosome in humans[1][2][3][5]. It is also known by the synonym NCRNA00147. TTTY22 is classified as a non-protein coding RNA and is part of a set of Y-linked transcripts that are primarily or exclusively expressed in the testis. While long non-coding RNAs can play roles in chromatin remodeling, sponging of microRNAs, and regulation of gene expression[4][6], there are no direct data describing a specific biological function, disease mechanism, or established role as a drug target for TTTY22. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, or transporter, nor is it a therapeutic target. Some data have described associations with endometriosis[2], but no clinical or mechanistic validation as a biomarker or therapeutic target is available.
