Testis expressed transcript, Y-linked 23 (TTTY23) is a human gene located on the Y chromosome that encodes a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). TTTY23 is classified as a non-protein coding RNA and is expressed specifically or predominantly in the testis[1][3][4][5][10][11]. It has multiple transcript variants, but none code for a protein. Its exact biological role is not fully characterized, but the testis-specific expression and its annotation as an lncRNA suggest its involvement in the regulation of gene expression during male germ cell development or spermatogenesis. TTTY23 is not known to function as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other common therapeutic target class, nor is it implicated as a disease gene or biomarker at this time. No drugs or therapeutic agents are known to act on TTTY23, and no mechanism of action or safety concerns are described in the scientific literature[1][3][4][5][10][11].
