Overview

Testis expressed transcript, Y-linked 3 (TTTY3) is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA (lincRNA) gene located on the Y chromosome with testis-specific expression. It does not code for a protein product and belongs to the family of long non-coding RNAs, whose general functions include chromatin remodeling and regulation of gene expression, often in a tissue-specific manner. There is limited information on any direct therapeutic or biomarker relevance for TTTY3 itself. TTTY3 has two copies within the P1 palindrome on the Y chromosome, and diseases reported in association with TTTY3 are rare congenital disorders; current data do not implicate it as a major disease gene or therapeutic target[1][3][7].
