Testis expressed transcript, Y-linked 7B (abbreviated as TTTY7B) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on the male-specific region of the human Y chromosome, most abundantly and predominantly expressed in testis tissue[1][3][7]. TTTY7B is part of a family of tandemly arrayed, lineage-specific Y chromosome lncRNAs that do not code for proteins but are transcribed in testis, possibly associated with testis development or spermatogenesis, though a clear biological function has not been experimentally established[3][7]. TTTY7B is a member of the “NORF” (no long open reading frame) cluster of transcriptionally active, non-coding Y-linked genes[7]. Unlike classic drug targets (such as receptors or enzymes), there is no evidence TTTY7B is directly targetable by drugs, nor is it currently associated with any clinical biomarker or safety concern. It is not a protein, enzyme, receptor, transporter, or transcription factor. There are no known drugs, mechanisms of action, or safety concerns associated with TTTY7B[3][7]. The presence of multiple aliases reflects the historical discovery of the TTTY family through cDNA and low-protein-coding-potential screens.
