Overview

Testis specific protein Y-linked 7, pseudogene (TSPY7P) is a non-coding pseudogene located on the Y chromosome and classified within the TSPY family of genes, which are generally testis-expressed and associated with spermatogenesis in their protein-coding forms. As a pseudogene, TSPY7P contains sequences homologous to other TSPY family members but does not produce a functional protein. There is no evidence that TSPY7P encodes a functional receptor, enzyme, or any other protein product, nor is it recognized as a therapeutic target for drug development or a biomarker for disease.
