TGF-beta activated kinase 1 (MAP3K7) binding protein 3 (TAB3) is an adaptor protein that is essential for the activation of JNK and NF-kappa-B signaling pathways. This protein specifically recognizes Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin chains, organizing large signaling complexes that promote autophosphorylation of MAP3K7/TAK1 and subsequent activation of IKK and related cascades. TAB3 plays a crucial role in mediating signal transduction in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF and IL-1, functioning in innate immunity, inflammatory responses, and cellular stress signaling.
