Target intelligence / Profile preview
Thioredoxin reductase and ribonucleotide reductase are distinct enzymes, both considered important therapeutic targets, primarily classified as oxidoreductases involved in redox regulation and DNA synthesis, respectively. They are linked in cellular metabolism—thioredoxin reductase regenerates thioredoxin, which in turn supplies reducing equivalents to ribonucleotide reductase. Both have well-characterized roles in cancer and other diseases and are targets for chemotherapy and other drug classes.
