Overview

Transcription elongation factor B (SIII) pseudogene (ENSG00000229629) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene in the human genome that shares sequence homology with the functional transcription elongation factor B (SIII), specifically the elongin B subunit encoded by the functional ELOB gene[2][4][5]. By definition, pseudogenes are genetic sequences that resemble functional genes but have accumulated mutations that disrupt their coding potential, and they do not encode functional proteins[3]. This pseudogene is identified primarily through computational annotation and has no known biological or clinical relevance as a drug target.
