Transmembrane serine protease 11C, pseudogene (TMPRSS11CP) is a human gene classified as a pseudogene, which means it shares sequence similarity with protein-coding genes but contains mutations that prevent protein production or enzymatic activity[5][8]. Although some pseudogenes can have regulatory RNA functions, there is no direct evidence that TMPRSS11CP acts as a therapeutic or biologically active target. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any conventional drug target category. In general, pseudogenes may modulate gene expression at the RNA level but rarely serve as direct pharmacologic or clinical targets[2][5][8].
