Tripartite motif containing 64H, pseudogene (TRIM64HP), is a predicted or annotated human pseudogene that belongs to the tripartite motif (TRIM) protein family by sequence homology, but it lacks the capacity to encode a functional protein. Like other pseudogenes, TRIM64HP is a non-functional DNA segment that resembles its functional protein-coding ancestor (TRIM64H), but it contains sequence alterations such as premature stop codons or frameshifts that prevent the production of a functional protein[5]. The general biological significance of human pseudogenes includes a possible regulatory role at the RNA level, such as acting as microRNA (miRNA) decoys or generating regulatory noncoding RNAs that may modulate the expression of related protein-coding genes[2][3][4]. However, there is no evidence that TRIM64HP itself is functional or clinically relevant, nor is it classified as a therapeutic target or biomarker at this time. The lack of established aliases, molecular or disease roles, and mechanisms of action underscore that this locus is not an actionable target in current biomedical contexts.
