Overview
Troponin I (fast skeletal) is the inhibitory subunit of the troponin complex found in fast-twitch skeletal muscle fibers. It plays a critical role in regulating muscle contraction by inhibiting actomyosin ATPase activity in the absence of calcium. TNNI2 is a therapeutic target for neuromuscular diseases involving muscle weakness.
