Tubulin Polymerization Inhibitor (AS269 Payload) (None)

Target
None
Molecular classification
Small Molecule, Cytotoxic agent
01

Overview

Tubulin polymerization inhibitors are a class of compounds that disrupt the formation of microtubules by preventing the polymerization of tubulin. The AS269 payload is an example of such an inhibitor, used as a cytotoxic agent in targeted cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). These inhibitors bind at or near the colchicine binding site on tubulin, preventing proper spindle formation, blocking cell cycle progression and inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. They offer potential advantages over traditional chemotherapies due to reduced susceptibility to common resistance pathways.
