Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are a subset of white blood cells, primarily T cells and B cells, that have migrated into tumor tissue. Autologous TIL therapy involves isolating TILs from a patient's own tumor, expanding them ex vivo, and reinfusing them back into the patient to enhance anti-tumor immunity. It is used as a form of personalized immunotherapy, with efficacy demonstrated in advanced solid tumors, particularly metastatic melanoma.
