Overview

Tumor-specific neoantigens are novel peptide sequences generated by somatic mutations in tumor cells. These mutated proteins produce unique antigens that are not present in normal tissues. As a result, they can be recognized as "non-self" by the immune system, making them attractive targets for cancer immunotherapy. Mutant EGFR is an example of a protein that can produce neoantigens.
