RNU6-627P encodes a pseudogene sequence related to U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA). U6 snRNA is a core component of the spliceosome, the complex responsible for removing introns from pre-mRNA in eukaryotes[3]. The U6 gene is highly conserved as it is essential for splicing activity[1][3], but many pseudogene copies such as RNU6-627P exist in the human genome and other vertebrates. These pseudogenes are non-functional: they are often not transcribed or, if transcribed, do not play a direct role in mRNA splicing or cellular regulation. While some pseudogenes can act as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or miRNA sponges, modifying gene expression[2], there is no evidence that RNU6-627P has such a function. RNU6-627P is a noncoding RNA pseudogene derived from the U6 snRNA gene. It is not a functional molecule and is not considered a direct therapeutic or pharmacological target. No biological, disease, or pharmacological roles are documented for RNU6-627P.
